From the “Too Unbelievable To Be True” files, a New York high school counselor was fired from her job by the New York Department of Education after racy lingerie photos surfaced from her past that were taken 17 years ago.
According to published reports, the Manhattan high school counselor is now suing in an attempt to get her job back.
The 37-year-old educator, Tiffany Webb, was fired from her job after a student found the photos online and showed them to the principal of the Murry Bergtraum High School for Business Careers.
Webb said the photos had been taken when she worked as a teen model from the ages of 18 to 20.
Webb is suing the New York Department of Education for sex discrimination, wrongful termination, and First Amendment rights violations. Webb's annual salary was $84,000. She is also suing for back pay and punitive damages.
Webb also claims that the school was informed about her modeling past when she was hired and had been given nothing but excellent reviews during her tenure there.
The three panel committe which voted 2-1 to fire her, stated “the inappropriate photos were accessible to impressionable adolescents. That behavior has a potentially adverse influence on her ability to counsel students and be regarded as a role model.”
Webb's lawyers claim that the online photos have been doctored and depict her face on a different body.
Whatever the case may be, this woman should never have been fired because of something that happened 17 years ago that was never illegal in the first place.
We hope Webb regains her position and gets backpay for such a terrible decision. We have included one of the photos that supposedly is of Webb. You decide.
